Piano Recital at Hind al Husseini College

In the evening of May 29th Hind al Husseini College Theatre Hall turned into a classic music hall with the internationally renowned piano duet Marialena Fernandes and Ranko Markovic.
 



The evening was supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum and presented by the new al Quds University College of Music planning it's further activities in July and autumn 2012. The Musicians presented pieces by Mahler, Cassela, Bruckner and Rachmaninov. The artists who came especially from Vienna to Jerusalem to perform this unique concert are both representatives of most renowned Austrian academic music institutions. 




At the end of the concert Ranko Markovic, artistic director of the Vienna Conservatory Music University, expressed his wishes to support Al Quds University's new music initiative. 




Marialena Fernandes was impressed by the wonderful attention and curiosity of Jerusalem's audience. Both artists have spent several days in The Old City and on Abu Dies campuses, interacting with students, professors and partner institutions of al Quds University.  
 
 


 
The concert audience made up of a diverse group of 90 residents of the city, Palestinians and internationals,  with the presence of President of al Quds University, Prof Sari Nusseibeh, were all  thrilled by the breathtaking piano recital and the harmonious light effects especially created for this evening. The artistic event was complemented with an exhibition of art works by students of al Quds University Fine Arts.
