Songs of Love

We would cordially like to invite you to recital with the Austrian soprano Sylvia Khittl-Muhr on February 18th at 7.30 pm at the Austrian Hospice in the Old City of Jerusalem. Accompanied by pianist Anastasiia Dombrovska and violinist Edua Zadory she will perform pieces by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Robert Stolz and Franz Lehár.


Sylvia Khittl-Muhr

Sylvia Khittl-Muhr studied literature at the University of Vienna and singing at the Konservatorium Vienna. Before changing to the dramatic repertoire, she started her career as a highly active concert singer of sacred music and recorded for radio a large repertoire of rediscovered composers. She performed many worls premieres of contemporary composers and gave gala, opera, operetta and orchestra concerts in Austria, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, France, Serbia and Montenegro, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. She participated in numerous festivals and performed at the Musikverein, Konzerthaus, Radiokulturhaus, townhall Vienna, Schloss Esterhazy, Stephansdom, cathedral of Saints Michel et Gudule in Brussels, at the Gran Teatro de Falla and the Sava-Centar in Belgrade. She made her stage debut as Countess in Wiener Blut, followed by performances of Die Zauberflöte and Mother in Hänsel und Gretel at the Festspielhaus Bregenz. In concert she sang Sieglinde and Isoldes Liebestod. She enjoyed a big success as "Agaue" in the premiere of the multimedia opera Strom by Johanna Doderer under musical direction of Ulf Schirmer and sang the world premiere of Astraios at the opening of Feldkirch Festival. Recent engagements include a program by Alma and Gustav Mahler which was first presented in London.  She also performed in the first presentation of the Al Quds University College of Music Project in Vienna.
