ALL THAT JAZZ! Al Quds University celebrates the International Jazz Day in the Old City of Jerusalem


Join us for a unique concert at the Patriarch’s Pool in the Old City!

We are looking forward to the performances of Gaspar Bertoncelj (percussion) from Slovenia, Samira Dainan (voice) from the Netherlands, Mary Freiburghaus (piano) from Switzerland, Bakr Khleifi (double bass) from Palestine, Karl Kronthaler (piano) from Germany and Tamar Haddad (voice) from Palestine.




Meeting point to be guided to the Patriarch’s Pool: 5.30 pm at Jaffa Gate.

SAMIRA DAINAN AT AL QUDS UNIVERSITY!


Samira Dainan is a vocalist and writer, born, raised and based in Amsterdam. She finds inspiration in her European and North-African roots. When creating songs, she searches for the colors, warmth and soul of her fathers’ country.

Samira explored her love for art and culture at University where she graduated on the subject ‘Bedouin Law and Poetry’. She studied jazz and travelled to Spain and Morocco to develop her musical- and vocal
techniques. Back in Holland Samira has been working on several music and poetry projects in the Dutch music scene. 

For her musical exchange in Jerusalem she is supported by the European Cultural Foundation. Next to that she is writing her debut novel.
